Once voted by gamers as the greatest video game of all time, the original Nintendo The Legend of Zelda – Ocarina of Time was (no exaggeration or pun intended) a game-changer, not just for the Nintendo 64 console, but for the industry in general.
An open world 3D adventure on this scale was groundbreaking, even by Nintendo’s Super Mario 64 standards. But now the game has been remade for the Nintendo Switch 2. Not just upgraded with upscaled graphics and some fun tweaks, but with a completely redesigned animation style, which is destined to divide fans, regardless of how clean and pretty it looks.
Announced via Nintendo Direct, giving us just a tiny peek at what’s to come (but no gameplay, frustratingly), the remake is due to arrive not too far into our future.
Watch for The Legend of Zelda – Ocarina of Time: Remake to overtake your life (when you aren’t also obsessing over GTA VI) in late 2026.
