The often highly acclaimed “Greatest Game of All Time”, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is everything you remember, but so much more.
While the game may contain the same world, characters, and story you know and love, wrapped in a shiny new package, this overview trailer shows off all of the new ways to engage with the game beyond the Switch 2. Here’s everything you need to know…
If you’re too lazy to watch this gorgeous trailer, here’s a summary of some of the surprises in store:
- Within the game, you can visit the Hall of Fallen Foes to learn more about the creatures you defeated along the way and fight them again if you choose, along with learning more than you ever wanted to know about each of them.
- And since music is an important part of the game, you can play any instrument, maybe even just whistle, for your Switch 2 controller to hear, allowing you to trigger the musical cues required to move through the game instead of using the buttons on your keypad. If you have a real ocarina in your hands and know how to play it, that might be a considerable benefit.
- You can even access something called Zelda Notes on the Nintendo Switch 2 or on your mobile device, using an app that tracks your progress and allows you to access information about your quest beyond the game itself.
- And soon you’ll be able to purchase two new Amiibos featuring Zelda and Link that can have an effect on your gameplay. This also works with any other previously released Legend of Zelda Amiibo figures released in the past, each possibly giving you a surprise bonus in the middle of your game whenever connected.
All of that is probably just the start of what is available in this new edition of the classic game.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Nintendo Switch 2 is available November 5th, 2026.
