If you haven’t been keeping up, The last Avengers book ended a few months back, but you knew they truly wouldn’t be gone forever. Avengers: Armageddon brings together teammates new and old to battle the Red Hulk in the aftermath of the fall of Emperor Doom.
One World Under Doom brought newfound terror and prosperity under the iron fist of Doctor Doom, but while many nations and peoples were happy with these changes despite not knowing or understanding the price, there was no way that the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, or the X-Men were going to let him keep that power once the truth behind it all was discovered.
In the vacuum left by his defeat, his nation of Latveria has been left vulnerable, along with every secret Doom ever held in the vaults beneath his castle. And as a result of being held captor by Emperor Doom, General Ross (aka Red Hulk) wasn’t going to let that stand without setting things right, in his own eyes, to make sure nothing like that could ever happen again.
And now the Avengers have returned to join their allies to take down a whole new type of overpowered dictator hellbent on remaking the world in a more America-centered geopolitical image.
