Marvel teases us with yet another Avengers Doomsday trailer – and it won’t be the last!

Yes, that title is a bit presumptuous, but I think it’s a safe bet. Even though Avengers Doomsday doesn’t need the hype, they’re gonna give it to us.

So far, we’ve received four teasers, telling us who is returning from the original Avengers in the MCU proper and from other realities (X-Men), who we’ve been dying to see join the battle alongside the every-growing collection of characters that have been filling the MCU since 2008. We even get a proper introduction between the two worlds in the latest, which is a fun nod to the fact that the Black Panther and Wakanda were first introduced in the Fantastic Four comic.

If you want to watch these in the order they were released, you should scroll to the bottom and watch them from bottom to top. I just figured most have seen the older ones so I had to choose some kind of logical order. Or illogical. It doesn’t matter.

Next up is the X-Men. And as much as I’m eager to see them stand shoulder to shoulder with the X-Men, whoa nelly, they better mix it up first, as is the super team first meet-up tradition. We need Cyclops’s blast deflect off of Cap’s shield, both of them, at least once. Thor and Storm. Wolverine and the Hulk, of course (not just a tiny Deadpool and Wolverine cameo). The potential for even a 5 minute fight will push all the right buttons with fanboys and girls at every screening for months.

The next teaser features another Avengers veteran, Thor, showing his motivation to head back into battle: to protect his child. The full purpose seems to mostly be that Thor can be a serious character again. It’s not that I didn’t like the Taika Watiti films, but it’s good for Thor to be a little less of a doof sometimes.

And the last one, actually the first released, was made to get the crowds screaming in the theaters louder than anything they’d see during 3 hours and 15 minutes of Avatar: Fire and Ash. Steve Rogers will return. But he too has a baby. This appears to be a time after he went back to Peggy. If this was a scene from the main MCU’s past, then who is that kid today? Anyway, the biggest lesson this teaches us is that we should never trust Chris Evans when he says he’s done playing Captain America. I mean, sure, we knew he’d come back someday, even for a 5 second cameo, to salute us through a time portal or something, but yeah, don’t trust Chris Evans and avoid Tom Holland like the plague if you don’t want to hear spoilers. Them there are what we call Official MCU Fan Rules set in vibranium.

Avengers Doomsday arrives in theaters December 18th, 2026. If you’re not sure how long that is, here’s an official countdown:

And, yes, I’m sticking by my guess that we’ll see another teaser, a Big Game clip, and an official trailer no later than the premiere of The Mandalorian and Grogu. Watch this space. And avoid the AI generated fake trailers. They’re so bad.
