You know things are bad when even the villains join the Avengers to take down Emperor Doom, whether he offers free health care options or not.
Yes, in case you haven’t heard, Doctor Doom has taken over the world… again.
Now working under the mantle of the Sorcerer Supreme (stolen from Stephen Strange), Doom has taken a different tactic in dominating everything he sees. Doom is not just all-powerful, he seems himself as a benevolent leader of all on the planet earth. He’s ended all wars. He’s working toward poverty and hunger at a level greater than any world leader ever has. Doom is even giving free health care to every single person who needs it. And the Avengers and what’s left of the Fantastic Four are here to stop him.
This process started in the months leading up to the release of issue #1 of One World Under Doom in February 2025. In one fell swoop, Doom has made everyone who came against him look like a chump for challenging his vision. World leaders have eagerly stepped aside and bowed to his reign. He’s always been immensely powerful, but what happens when he has the resources to influence hearts and minds, without mind control or even the most complex magics?
The Avengers aren’t buying any of it. He can’t be doing all of this for the greater good. It’s always about serving his own ego and lust for power over everything he surveys. Isn’t it?
Written by Ryan North with art from R.B. Silva, here’s a sneak peek at the 3rd issue in the limited series event spilling out into nearly every major book coming from Marvel throughout this summer.
