From the mind of Stephen King. Written for the screen by Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep). Starring Tom Hiddleston (Loki) as Charles Krantz. I’m in.
While the trailer is extremely vague in what the story is about, Stephen King fans will already know it’s from one of his novellas, telling three separate but linked stories that tell the life of Chuck in reverse. And there’s a haunted house in there somewhere.
Adapted and directed by Mike Flanagan, who directed Doctor Sleep (another King tale) and The Haunting of Hill House among so many other horror tales, this seems like a match made in heaven hell. The good kind of hell.
And it doesn’t hurt to have Tom Hiddleston (Loki of the MCU) starring as the titular character. But when it comes to the cast, that’s just scratching the surface. Check out the stack of names at the end of the trailer!
Matthew Lillard, Karen Gillan, David Dastmalchian, Annalise Basso, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Siegel, Mia Sara, Samantha Sloyan, Nick Offerman, Carl Lumbly, Rahul Kohli, Harvey Guillen, Jacob Tremblay, and Mark Hammill. That’s a pretty stacked cast.
Completed in 2024, The Life of Chuck is looking at a release in theaters June 6, 2025.
